Each spin generates a cryptographically secure random number using your browser's crypto.getRandomValues. That number maps to an angle, and the slice under the pointer at that angle is the winner. The animation is purely visual — the result is locked in the instant you press spin.

Yes. We use the same random source browsers use to generate security keys. The built-in randomness simulator lets you verify it yourself by running thousands of virtual spins and graphing the distribution.

Not unless you choose to save a wheel to the cloud. By default your entries, settings, and winner history live only in your browser's local storage, and nothing is uploaded. Open the site in a private/incognito window for a totally clean slate.

No. You can enter names, build a wheel, and spin it without signing in. Signing in is optional and only lets you save wheels to the cloud so you can reopen them on another device.

WheelOurNames does not currently serve Google AdSense or any other advertising. We do use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used, but only if you choose "Accept analytics" in our notice — if you reject it, no analytics script is loaded at all, and you can change your choice any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Wheel entries and names are never sent to analytics. The site is also registered with Google Search Console for search indexing, which places nothing in your browser.

Yes. The wheel, simulator, and customization panels are fully responsive and work on phones and tablets.

Yes. Your setup is auto-saved locally. You can also export your wheel to a file from the Save menu and re-import it on another device or browser.

Yes — enable auto-remove in the Behavior settings for elimination rounds, or click 'Add wheel' to run two wheels side-by-side for matchups.

Yes. Open the Customize panel to change slice colors, fonts, label style, spin duration, easing, tick sounds, and the winner fanfare. You can also add a center image or a full-page background image.

Yes. There's no paywall or usage limit, and no account is needed to use the wheel. WheelOurNames does not currently serve advertising.

Yes. Click the Share button in the top toolbar to generate a unique link. Anyone with the link can open your exact wheel — same entries, same colors — and spin it themselves. The link works on any device.

Absolutely. Paste your student names, spin on the projector so the whole class sees it, and the result is immediately visible and trusted by everyone. Use elimination mode to keep spinning without repeats.

Once the page has loaded, the wheel runs entirely in your browser. If your internet drops mid-session, you can keep spinning. This makes it reliable for classrooms with spotty Wi-Fi or live events.

Yes. Open the wheel in a browser window, set a transparent background in Customize, then add it as a Browser Source in OBS or Streamlabs. Your viewers see the live spin on stream.
