The wheel spinner is a free decision-making tool that picks a random entry from any list you give it. Type or paste names, choices, prizes, or tasks, then spin the wheel and let chance decide.

It's perfect for classrooms, livestreams, giveaways, team meetings, family game nights — anywhere a fair, transparent random pick beats arguing over who goes first.

Everything runs directly in your browser — there's nothing to install, no account to create, and no paywall hiding the good features. Once the page has loaded, the wheel keeps working even if your connection drops, which makes it reliable for live events, classrooms with spotty Wi-Fi, or backstage decisions during a stream.

1. Type or paste your entries into the side panel — one per line, or use Import for a .csv or .txt list. Blank lines and extra spaces are cleaned up automatically. Duplicate entries are preserved unless you choose Dedupe.
2. Open Customize to tweak colors, fonts, spin duration, easing, sound effects, and the optional center image or background.
3. Click the center of the wheel (or press the spin button) to start a spin. The animation length and easing curve are fully under your control.
4. When the wheel stops, the winner pops up in a dialog. From there you can remove them for elimination-style rounds, spin again, or restore previous winners from the history panel.

Your setup — entries, colors, sounds, and history — is saved locally, so closing the tab and coming back later picks up exactly where you left off.

Yes. Every spin uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same primitive used to generate security keys. There is no bias toward any slice, regardless of size or color.

Here's how a spin works under the hood: the wheel first generates a high-entropy random value, then maps that value to an angle between 0 and 360 degrees. The visual animation is purely cosmetic — the winning slice is locked in the instant the spin starts, not when the wheel appears to stop. Larger slices have proportionally larger angular ranges, so their win probability exactly matches their share of the wheel.

The built-in simulator lets you verify this yourself. It runs hundreds or thousands of rapid virtual spins using the same randomization engine, records every winner, and displays the distribution. It compares the observed results with the expected probability of each slice, so over enough trials you can see each entry's win rate converge towards its expected share.

By default, yes. Your entries, settings, and winner history live only in your browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded unless you deliberately save a wheel to the cloud.

No account is required to create or spin a wheel. Signing in is optional and only unlocks cloud saving, so you can reopen a wheel on another device. WheelOurNames does not currently serve advertising. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it in our notice, and it never receives the names on your wheel. Server logs record only what's needed to serve the page itself — they never see the names on your wheel unless you save that wheel to the cloud.

Want a totally clean slate? Open the wheel in a private/incognito window and every trace disappears when you close it. On a normal window, clearing your browser's site data wipes entries, history, and customizations instantly. If you did sign in, you can delete any cloud-saved wheel from the Cloud dialog at any time.

No popups or autoplay videos. WheelOurNames does not currently serve advertising. Google Analytics loads only if you accept analytics in our notice, and wheel entries and names are never sent to it. The page you load is the tool — nothing else competes with your spin.

There is no interstitial before a result and no "sign up to continue" — signing in is entirely optional and only adds cloud saving.
